Project Background:
The Yingqian lead-zinc mine in Jiangxi Province, China, faces challenges in treating tailings wastewater due to its proximity to a sensitive ecological area. The current practice involves natural settling in a tailings pond, followed by partial recycling and partial discharge of the supernatant water. However, this method fails to meet the stringent discharge standards (GB25466-2010) for lead and zinc pollutants, especially critical due to the mine's location near the Ganjiang Source Nature Reserve.
